Harland Audraine Roark, age 91, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully, Tuesday Nov 19, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Carroll County TN, the youngest of nine children, to Sarah and Caleb Roark.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mable, wife of seventy-one years. He was a devoted husband and father. Survived by two daughters and their husbands, one son and his wife.
He has spent many moments playing with and watching his six grandchildren, shaping their lives by the example he lived. In the last nine years he has been blessed with three great grandchildren. His also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins are included in those he held dear. His family was his greatest enjoyment and he loved spending any time he could with them.
He leaves behind not only his family but many friends whom he cherished.
Mr. Roark was a long time faithful member of Charlotte Heights church of Christ, retired from Ford Glass Plant in 1987, and honored Veteran of WWII.
We are better for the time we had with him.
A celebration of Harland’s life will be conducted on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
