Al was born on August 25, 1933, in Telluride, Colorado.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and continued with the Navy working his way up to the rank of a BUC Chief Petty Officer in the Reserves before his retirement.
Al was a member of the Carpenter's Local #586 and worked in construction in Sacramento for 40 years.
Al is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audine; his stepchildren, Deborah Dotta and Randy Vaughn-Dotta and his wife Peggi Vaughn-Dotta, sister Donna Burkhart, and nephew Tom Burkhart.
Services will be held at Dixon National Cemetery on a date to be determined
