Death Sunday, following a long illness, of Henry Gloe in the residence of his
brother, August Gloe, where he had been staying for several months.
The deceased was born 08 November 1846 in Holstein, Germany
and came to America with hisparents as a 14-year old boy. The family
settled in Two Rivers and he had lived there until his death. For more than
20 years Henry Gloe was the agent for Nord-Westen in Two Rivers. We always
found him to be a dependable businessman. During that time he also wrote
the correspondence that our readers always
enjoyed.
He leaves 4 children. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.

HENRY GLOE
TEN YEARS AS RECLUSE
Henry Gloe, Died at Two Rivers, Prominent in Younger Days
Henry Gloe, years ago, one of the most prominent and influential
residents of Two Rivers who in late years of his life, lived as a
recluse in a small cottage on the lakefront in that city is dead. For
many years in his younger days he was a social leader, well educated and
polished and his friendships in the community had no limit. As he grew
older, he took up newspaper work and was a contributor of many articles
to the German press in Wisconsin. An orchestra consisting of his nephews
is a widely known musical organization in this section.
