Obituary: Word was received here Saturday of the death of H. W. Reed at his home in Longmont. The news of his death had been preceded by messages telling of his illness. The body was brought to Albion for interment, arriving here Monday morning and Tuesday morning funeral services were held from the Congregational Church conducted by the Pastor, Rev. Trickey. The body was laid to rest beside that of his wife in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Hezekiah Wheeless Reed was born at Nashville, Illinois September 5, 1843, and died at Longmont Colorado January 6, 1922, at the age of 78 years 4 months and one day. He moved to Hopkinton, Iowa at the age of 21 and there he was married to Matilda E. Wheeless, June 10, 1863. To this union were born seven children, five of whom preceded him to their heavenly home.
He moved to Boone County, Nebraska in December 1884 where he resided until after the death of his wife 12 years ago, when he moved to Colorado. He is survived by two sons, H. H. and W. E. Reed of Longmont Colorado, one brother Jerry Reed of Loretto and one sister, Mrs. Jas Browder of Van Tassel, Wyoming.
