Kathy Lynn Farmer, 49, of 2387 Old Forge Rd., Luray, died on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Sentara RMH Medical Center after a 30-year battle with diabetes.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1965, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of the late Russell Lee Graves and Kathleen Virginia Moyer Graves.

Mrs. Farmer graduated from the Page County Technical Center on May 10, 2007, earning a nursing degree. She worked for Page Memorial Hospital for 15 years as a CNA and for Consulate Health Care as a nurse for three years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Gospel Church.

On April 30, 1983, she married Donald Winfield Farmer, who survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Jeremy Wayne Farmer and wife Mari Cathern of Luray; and a special dog, her Chihuahua Taco (Bell). She was preceded in death by a daughter, Candace Dawn Farmer; a sister, Juanita G. Barnes; and three brothers, Jerry Wayne, Robert Lee and Russell Lee Graves Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Evangelist Earl E. Painter and the Rev. Charles R. Turner. Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home.
