Nov 28, 1963 - Edwin Harris Dickinson, Jr., 57, of 42 Harris St., a lifelong resident of Amherst, died Nov. 21 at Cooley Dickinson hospital, Northampton.
    Born Dec. 21, 1905, he was the son of the late Edwin H. and Nellie Graves (Cowls) Dickinson. He attended Amherst schools, was a member of North Congregational church and had served there as a deacon and on the board of management. He also had been custodian of the church for 14 years. A member of the Dickinson Family association, he served as chairman of its nominating committee and was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants. He had been employed by Kollmorgen Co. of Northampton for the past five years.
    Mr. Dickinson was married to Lydia Nickerson of Cape Porpoise, Me., Feb 9, 1927, in N. Amherst. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, two daughters, and four grandchildren.
    The funeral was held in North Congregational church November 23 with Rev. Russell G. Claussen officiating. Burial was in North Amherst cemetery.
    Organist was Mrs. Clara Dickinson. Bearers were Alan Hobart, John Bragg, Prof. Harold W. Cary, Wilbur Thies and Nathan Tilley. Honorary bearers were Mr. Dickinson's associates at the Kollmorgen Co. of Northampton.
    The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the cancer fund in care of Miss Sylvia Saarinen at First National Bank. The Douglass funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
