Mildred Rodgers Harrell, 96, of Suffolk, VA passed away on October 16, 2012. A native of Nansemond County, VA she was the daughter of late Stanley Leroy Rodgers and Novella Copeland Rodgers. She was also predeceased by her husband Sidney Fletcher Harrell; son, Aaron Rodgers Harrell; and brother, Stanley Leroy Rodgers.

Mildred was a lifelong member of Suffolk Christian Church and the West Memorial Bible Class. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star #18 Sinai Chapter. Mildred was a cashier for Southland Life Insurance Company and after retiring she worked as a hostess at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Genevieve H. Hewitt and Phyllis H. Garlick and husband, Larry; five grandchildren, Christina Marie Hewitt Pennington, Susie Hewitt Hill, Elizabeth Gardner Hewitt Shirley, Brandon Wayne King and Shawn Michelle King; and 10 great grandchildren.

Her funeral service was held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial was at the Somerton Friends Meeting.
