Death of Mr. Little.
The death of William A. Little occurred
at his home on Main street, Thursday
morning. He was born at East St.
Johnsbury, in 1845, and with the
exception of a few years spent in Island
Pond and Groveton, he has always re
sided in this town. He married in 1879
Abbie F. Jones, who with two children,
Arthur and Marion, survives him. He
also leaves one sister, Miss Cora Little,
of Lawrence, Mass. Mr. Little was for
a number of years clerk at the St. Johnsbury
House, and for 20 years was employed us
clerk in the store of George
Ranney and Ranney & Potts. He gave
up this work about two years ago, and
on account of gradually failing health he
has been able to be out very little during
the past year. He was an active member of
the Free Baptist church, was its
treasurer for a number of years, and one
of the deacons at the time of his death.
He was also a member of the I 0 0. F.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon,
Rev. Robert L. Duston officiating,
the Odd Fellows conducting the service
at the grave. A profusion of flowers
from the Odd Fellows, and from friends
in town and from Springfield, Manchester and
Morrisville testified to the esteem
in which he was held. He was a genial,
kind-hearted man, who met the people
at large in the positions in which he was
placed, and made friends of them all.
