Torbrook Mines – Haldane Jerome Barteaux, 76, Torbrook Mines, died January 5, 1997, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Torbrook Mines, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Nellie (Crouse) Barteaux. He was a veteran of the Second World War; a retired employee of CFB Greenwood and a truck driver. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Acker; daughter, Kaye (Mrs. Albert Dowling), Ward Road; son, Kevin, Kingston; sisters, Helen Hatt, Ward Road, Donna Strong, Niagara Falls, Ont; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Robie. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating, with burial in Torbrook Mines United Church Cemetery.
