Torbrook Mines – Haldane Jerome Barteaux, 76, Torbrook Mines, died January 5, 1997, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Torbrook Mines, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Nellie (Crouse) Barteaux. He was a veteran of the Second World War; a retired employee of CFB Greenwood and a truck driver. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Acker; daughter, Kaye (Mrs. Albert Dowling), Ward Road; son, Kevin, Kingston; sisters, Helen Hatt, Ward Road, Donna Strong, Niagara Falls, Ont; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Robie. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating, with burial in Torbrook Mines United Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stoke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia branch.
