Word was received here yesterday announcing the death of Mrs. W.L. Lillie at the home of her son Frank at Maxbas, N.D. yesterday morning. Mrs. Lillie had been visiting her sons, Park and Frank, there for some time and while it was known here that she was indisposed it was not considered anything serious. The remains will arrive here Tuesday evening and will be taken to the home of her daughter and husband, Dr. and Mrs. L.C. Dow. Funeral announcement will be made later.

The Marion Register Friday December 4, 1908
The funeral services of Mrs. W.L. Lillie were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Congregational church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. M.L. Hutton, who spoke briefly but eloquently. A quartette composed of Messrs. J.J. Booth, Jams E. Bromwell, D.E. Voris and A.D. Hartson sang "Nearer my God to Thee" and "Jesus, Saviour Pilot Me." The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Shade cemetery. The pall bearers were C.H. Kurtz, B.F. Mentzer, Ed Garretson, X.N. Kemp, Henry Scott and George McCauley. The out of town people called here by the death of Mrs. Lillie were Frank Lillie and family, George Lillie and family, Park Lillie and family and Ed Lillie all of Maxbass, N.D.; Mrs. C.H. Brooks of Wichita, Kansas, and C.H. Aikens of Louisburg, Kansas.
