Paul was born in Huntington, West Virginia. He married Eva Fry 11-10-1948. Paul was a civil servant his whole life. He was very patriotic and joined the US Marine Corp in 1942. He was wounded in battle at Iwo Jima in 1945 and earned 3 purple hearts. He and Eva moved their family to Concord, California in 1957 where he was a postal carrier until retirement in 1985. Paul and Eva retired in Greenville, California, where Paul continued to volunteer for the VA. They returned to Oakley, California, in 2004 to be closer to family.

Paul was always helping family and friends in need. He enjoyed telling old stories and jokes and doing magic tricks for children. He loved to cook and have BBQ's with friends. His passion was wood working and make gifts of all kinds for many people.

There are three surviving children. Brenda Quinonez, Bay Point, California, Jim Brumfield, Bend, Oregon, Patricia McGuire, Pembroke, Massachusetts. There are five surviving grandchildren. Brian Quinonez, Paula Brumfield, Brent Brumfield, Troy Wiles, Sean McGuire & Keith McGuire and one great grandchild, Coty Brumfield.

The memorial service is at Higgins Chapel in Antioch Friday 9-20-13 @ 11:00 am.

Paul was the son of Sadie Elizabeth and Lewis Earl Brumfeld; brother of Lewis E., Donald J., Lucille, Earl R., Claude, Betty, Charles and Loretta Brumfeld.

At the time of the 1930 and 1940 census, the family was living in Huntington, Cabell, West Virginia.
