Funeral services for John Anthony Bos of 303 Sunrise Park, Pella, a former resident of the Prairie City area, were held Monday at the Van Dyk-Dyuven Funeral Home in Pella.

The Rev. Robert Holwerda conducted services. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Survivors are his wife, Cora; two sons, Clarence Bos of Wagner, Okla., and Dwight Bos of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Beulahdean) De Vries of Colfax and Mrs. John (Anita) Betz of Ankeny; 20 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Henry Box of Runnells and Edwin Bos of Tucson, Ariz.; and four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Jennie) Schut and Mrs. Gerrit (Cora) Schut, both of Prairie City, Mrs. Noah (Nellie) Leatherman of Hudsonville, Mo., and Mrs. Pete (Jeanetta) Wallace of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Bos, a former member of the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church, was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

Mr. Bos, a former farmer had been employed at Butler Paper Co. in Des Moines until his retirement.

The son of Brandt and Dena Michmershuizen Bos, he was born Feb. 13, 1901 on a farm east of Pella and attended Prairie City schools.

He was married to Cora Wynberg Jan. 2, 1925 in Pella. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Tuesday, January 31, 1978.
