All waggly and wiggly and sniffly and snuffly,
Paws and fur and tail.
Running, laughing, licking.
Warm and gentle and love.

She was a whisper...
A breath,
The wind;
Here for a time
And gone again.

So Much More by Hazelnuts & Bolts
---------------
They are only dogs, you say,
But they are so much more -
Waiting for you patiently
As you come in through the door.
Their joy for you they cannot hide,
As if they’d want to try.
Their love for you cannot be drowned
Even if you make them cry.
Their friendship knows no bounds at all.
It just cannot be measured.
It’s larger than the earth itself
And always should be treasured.
That wagging tail and happy bark
And silly body wiggle
Makes hard days fade and sadness flee
And brings a childish giggle.
And when they’re gone, they leave a space
That nothing else can fill…
The spot where they laid, a yard that’s empty,
A house so very still.

The Puppy Song

My Gift to Jesus by Frank Inn
-------------------
I wish someone had given little Jesus
a dog as loyal and loving as mine
to sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
and adore Him for being divine.

As our Lord grew to manhood His own faithful dog
would have followed Him all through the day
while He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
and knelt in the garden to pray.

It is sad to remember that Christ went away
to face death alone and apart
with no tender dog following close behind
to comfort His masters heart.

And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
how happy He would have been
as His dog kissed His hand and barked it's delight
for the one who died for all men.

Well the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine...
My old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
knowing they're in eternity.
