In our family, the Hazel name switches back and forth in history from Hazel to Hazle to Hasel to Hasell to Hassel and so forth. In addition to Hazel, my family lines include Bolt, Owens, Garner, Coleman, Nelson, Brownlee, Stone, Garrett, Owsley, Hughes, Riddle, Franks, Lanford, etc. - most from Laurens/Ninety-Six District/Gray Court/Newberry/Hickory Tavern, SC. I've been researching family history for 20+ years.

After my parents died, I took on the task of cataloging their old photos and have provided some of them on various memorial pages (that process is ongoing). Feel free to copy the photos... I don't need credit for your using them.

I don't mind transferring pages for those who are not in my family, and I'm open to comments and corrections. I sometimes make mistakes, so please kindly point them out. Unkind remarks are not wanted or needed.

People will not look forward to posterity who never look backward to their ancestors. ~ James Barnwell Heyward

All these people'll live as long as you remember 'em. ~ Ninny Threadgoode

History remembers only the celebrated; genealogy remembers them all. ~ Laurence Overmier

Not now, but in the coming years,
It may be in the better land,
We'll read the meaning of our tears,
And there, sometime, we'll understand.
