HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Bob passed away in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. He was a contented soul, happy to be of service to his family, friends and community. His greatest joy came from family and friends, living in Rock Valley, a good joke, Boothbay Harbor sunsets, walking the Marginal Way, Grey Goose Martinis, golf and his big blue tractor. Bob graduated from Holyoke Trade school and joined the Sea Bees during the Korean War. He became a captain on the Holyoke Fire Department and a licensed electrician. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph and Lily and siblings Terence, James, William, Joseph, Dottie, Peggy and Margie. He is survived by his wife Terry (Mongeau), daughters Tracey and her husband David Whalen, Jill and her husband Brian Stortz. He leaves 7 grandchildren, Kate, Kristin and her husband Robert OConnor, Ryanne, Megan, David, Brennan and Emma and 2 great grandchildren Ainsleigh and Presley. He loved them all and was their greatest cheerleader for all of their activities. Bob is also survived by his sister Barbara Harris and many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank Drs. Chipkin, Cook, Melchionna, Munro and Slawsky for their care and compassion. Holyoke VNA and Hospice provided excellent end of life services. We appreciate all of you. Private burial will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to: Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104 or Holyoke VNA and Hospice, 10 Hospital Dr. Holyoke, MA 01040
