Married 1st William Glenn, b.1846, on Apr.20,1864 in Knox Co., IN. It has not been determined if the marriage ended through death or separation.

Married 2nd James D. Askren, (b.1847 OH), on Jun.20,1878 in Knox Co., IN.

She and James were of Champaign Co., OH in 1880, with daughter Etta, (b.1879), and she was listed as a widow in the 1894 City directory of Springfield, OH, also with daughter Etta.

In 1900 she was living with daughter Etta J. Askren Clark, (b.1879), apparently a widow, in Hampton, Franklin Co., IA.

Daughter Etta was an actress, known as Little Etta Askren, with traveling road shows by as early as 1893. There is a record in the Jun.25,1895 Edwardsville Intelligencer of a county
clerk in that community refusing, because she was under age, to issue a marriage license
for Etta Askren, age 16, and George F. Clark, 25, although a paper was presented as being
signed by her mother granting permission. The clerk described the couple, and an older man and woman and child who accompanied them, as being well dressed and appearing
like theatrical people. But he was afraid Etta might be a farm girl who'd been lured into a
quick marriage by her actor/lover.

Maggie Askren's death notice mentions a daughter Mrs. W. Smith and a deceased daughter
Cora Croy. It is unknown, at present, if these were perhaps both children by 1st marriage,
who were raised by father after a divorce, or if Mrs.W. Smith might be a 2nd marriage for
daughter Etta.
