George Wacker Sr., last Friday afternoon, passed quietly away while sleeping at the home of his son, Jacob Wacker, where he had been visiting for a short, age 84 years, 2 months, and 18 days, from old age.

He was born at Frank, Russia on the 12th day of January 1833. In 1853 he was married to Marie Katherina Ekhard, who died about ten years ago. This union was blessed with nine children, of whom three preceded him in death. About thirty-nine years ago, in 1878, he came with his family to the United States stopping first at Sutton, Nebraska, from which place he moved in 1879, coming to Culbertson where he has resided since that time. Mr. Wacker was highly respected by all who knew him.

He leaves five sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends to revere his memory.

The funeral was held from the German Evangelical church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. A. Hanke officiating. The pallbearers were Messrs. John Wacker, Harry Wacker, Samuel Wacker, Edward Wacker, Jacob Wacker, and George W. Wacker, all grandsons of the deceased. Interment in Culbertson cemetery.
