Mrs. Ann Eliza (Parker) Ladd died
at her home in Waterford Sunday morn
ing. She had been in failing health from
heart trouble for several years, but it
was not until about two weeks ago that
her friends realized she was in such a
serious condition. She was born in St.
Johnsbury November 13, 1830, the
daughter of the late Quincy B., and Elec
ta Parker. She was married to Orange
Scott Ladd in March, 1851, and went to
the Ladd farm in Waterford to live
where her entire life with the exception
of four years, has been spent. Two of
these were spent in Danville and two
with her daughter in California. She
leaves three children: Mary E, (Mrs.
Moses Adams) of California; Hattie A.
(Mrs. B. F. Weeks) of St. Johnsbury;
and Milo E , at the home farm in Water
ford. Mrs. Ladd was possessed of a
pleasant, cheerful disposition, making an
atmosphere in her home genial and at
tractive to her family and her many
friends and relatives, for she was a wo
man very generally beloved. She united
with the Methodist church when 18
years of age. She is survived by two
sisters and one brother, Mrs. Caleb H.
Marshall and Mrs. Warren Powers of
St. Johnsbury and Ezra T. Parker of
Logansport, Indiana. The funeral was
held at the house yesterday afternoon.
Rev. P. N. Granger "from West Concord
officiating, and the interment was in Mt.
Pleasant cemetery.
