She became ill about two months ago and passed away on Thursday, November 1, 1956, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, l0 days.
She joined the Otley Reformed Church by confession of faith in Christ as her Saviour at the age of 18 years. She was a faithful and active member of the church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She transferred her membership to the Third Reformed Church of Pella where she was a member at the time of her death.
Those who preceded her in death are: her parents, three sisters, Dena, Maggie and Jennette.
Those who survive her are: one brother, Walter, of Pella; four sisters, Dora, Mrs. Jens Jensen, of Monroe; Anna, Mrs. Bert Vander Werff, of Pella; Carolyn, Mrs. James Van Weelden, of Monroe; and Marie, Mrs. Richard J. Rozeboom, of Ackley; eight nieces and five nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 3, 1956, by the Rev. Russell J. Redeker. Family prayer services were at 1 p.m at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home and 1:30 services were from the Third Reformed Church. Mrs. Carl Vogelaar and Mrs. Arnold De Bruin sang "God's Way is the Best Way" and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." Accompanying them was Miss Marlene Dykstra at the organ. Casket bearers were. Wayne Vander Werff, Elvin Vander Werff, Hugo Vander Velden, Ralph R. Buckley, Gerrit Slykhuis, and A. A. Van Zee. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery at Pella.
