Mishawaka-Ronald Gene Meade, 79, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 12.

Ron was born on March 26, 1935 in Portsmouth, OH to John and Faye (Elmore) Meade. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Andrew.

On March 13, 1955 in Portsmouth, OH he married the former Helen Lett. Surviving are his loving wife, Helen; four children, David (Molly) Meade, Douglas (Joanne) Meade, Kevin (Jean) Meade and Jason (Karmin) Meade; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a sister, Linda Shope.

Ron retired as a Zone Manager from Kroger after 29 ½ years before opening Meade’s Mini Mart. He was a member of Four Lakes Country Club. Ron was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He served his country proudly during the Korean War.

Funeral service will be on Monday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Rev. Kevin Russeau will officiate. Burial will take place in Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg, MI.
