daughter of
Wiley Hill Horton (1830 - aft 1910) and Elizabeth M. Horton (c1836 - 1866)
married Charles Benjamin Bridge on April 19, 1885 in Fannin Co., TX
Jeanette and Charles were married by Rev. C. V. Bristow. She and Charles Benjamin lived in several towns as he changed jobs as a Peace Officer. In Houston, they lived in several houses near Heights Blvd., on those streets named for universities.
She wore glasses as a young woman. She was later blinded by cataracts (her eyes were milky white) because surgery was especially complicated in the 1930's, and there was no money to pay for surgery anyway. Both she and Charles Benjamin lived with Willie Edith at 734 East 8 1/2 St. in their later years. Willie Edith rented the same house for 33 years.
