This is a memorial to the six sons of John and Charity Ferguson Boyles who died while serving as soldiers for the Confederacy in the War Between the States.

Actual place of burial is unknown.

Alexander enlisted in Co H North Carolina 53rd Infantry Regiment on 30 Apr 1862. He mustered out 30 Jan 1863.
