A former Valley City man, Ingar (Sig) Overbo, 64, of Grand Forks, was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday night two miles south of Argusville, N. D. He was one of two persons killed at about 11:45 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church here with Rev. James Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Peterson-Olson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Ingar Overbo was born February 13, 1903, in Bokn, Norway. He received his education and was reared to manhood there. He served in the Norwegian Army. He married Lilly Berg October 10, 1923 in Norway. The couple came to the United States in 1925, living in Iowa and at Duluth, Minn., before coming to Valley City where he worked as a carpenter until 11956 when he moved to Grand Forks where he has resided since.
He leaves four sons, Sven of Chicora, Penn., Bernard of Grand Forks, Lloyd of Casselton and Edwin of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sonja) Hefty of Valley City; one brother, Louis Swenson in New Jersey; two sisters, Inga and Laura, both in Norway; and 18 grandchildren.
One infant son, one infant daughter and two brothers preceded him in death.
