Jimmie H. Rogers Sr., age 79, an Midwest City, OK resident, formerly of Atoka, OK. He was born on Monday, March 25, 1935, to Dwight and Emma (Green) Rogers, at Atoka, OK. and passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Durant, OK., 79 years, 7 months and 17 days.
He attended and graduated from Atoka High School. He began his college career at Oklahoma Baptist University and continued at various other universities, earning 2 Master's and then ended with an Education Specialist Degree from the University of Wyoming. He was always proud of his education and encouraged and helped others to obtain theirs. He continued to be a lifelong learner.
Jim taught at several colleges and community colleges in Oklahoma. He also taught at Western Wyoming College in Rock Springs, WY and Liberal High School in Liberal, KS. His areas of expertise were Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Math.
He married Margie Scritchfield in Laramie, WY, they later divorced, one son was born to them. Jim always had a deep faith in his Lord and tried to follow the path God had set for him. He was baptised into the Southern Baptist faith. He was ordained in a small church in rural Oklahoma and served a short time there as a pastor. He was a member of various Southern Baptist Churches in the towns where he taught.
