Hoss, age 70, was fatally beaten at his home in Belvue by his mentally-ill nephew. He was the son of Lyle C. and Ruth (Ross) Arand. He graduated from Wamego (KS) High School. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his siblings, Ron Arand and Carolyn Arand. Graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery east of Belvue.
