MARIE CLARK, 89, lifelong resident of Quimby, Iowa, passed away Tuesday evening, November 11, 2014 in the Countryside Estates in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Barb Dinelli will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery.

Marie was born on May 11, 1925 at Cherokee, Iowa, the third child of Clyde Lee & Nora (Jackson) McCoy. She attended Washta and Quimby schools graduating from Quimby Community High School in 1945. She then attended one year of business college in Omaha, Nebraska. She was married to Robert G. Clark on May 1, 1950 at Milford, Iowa. Together they raised three sons, William “Bill”, James “Jim” and Jeffrey “Jeff” Clark. She had worked at the Cherokee Home Appliance Store, Simonsen’s Advertising, Wilson Foods and for the Cherokee Mental Health Institute, retiring on December 15, 1988. Marie was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Quimby Senior Citizens, Entre Nous, and Classy Lassie Red Hats. She enjoyed crocheting small blankets and giving them to friends and relatives. She also enjoyed puzzles, the computer, cards and ballroom dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 10, 1991, two sons William in 1998 and James in 2005; three sisters Leora Frahm in 2004, Gladys Johnson in 1993 and Pauline Leeds in 2004.

She is survived by one son: Jeffrey Clark of Quimby, Iowa and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend Walt Brenner of Cherokee, Iowa.
