Catherine was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and great cook. She regularly contributed her skills as a literary artist to monthly columns, newspaper, and magazines locally and nationally. Her interest included; the flora and fauna Gods natural world. Catherine hand raised numerous orphaned animals, including black and white skunk named, "Pinky". She loved Gospel music, and daily meditations from God's word. During the summers, Mrs. Sides, enjoyed spending time at the beach and fishing from the pier.
Catherine is survived by her husband and marital companion of 76 years, Roscoe Elwood Sides; their three daughters, Dorothy Sides Reynolds, Rebecca Sides Julian and Barbara Sides Barron; six grandchildren Susan Reynolds Barkocy, Kathryn Taylor Reynolds and Jason S. Barron all of Winston-Salem; Chad M. Barron of Hamptonville, NC, Cathy Julian O'Doherty of Charlotte, NC, Gina Julian Kemper of Lithia, FA, as well as her 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to a host of nieces and nephews, Mrs. Sides is also survived by her brother, Harvey Dorsett and her Sister Alice D. Wahlfeldt.
