Rita R. Canfield, 69, of 41 Webster St. and formerly of Osborn St., died Tuesday in St. Anne's Hospital. She was the widow of Edward Canfield and Louis P. Belanger.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Odile (Dupuis) Morin, she was a machine operator at the Chace Curtain Co. for 15 years until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of the Flint Senior Citizens and the East End Sportsmen's Club Auxiliary.
She leaves three sons, Louis P. Belanger of New York, Roger R. Belanger of Warren and Edward Canfield of Swansea; six daughters, Jeannette Biello, Trudy Canfield and Rhea Fernandez, all of Swansea, Georgette Andrade and Doris Lacombe, both of Fall River, and Lucille Freve of Attleboro; 31 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the August Hebert and Son Funeral Home, 945 South Main St., with a funeral Mass at 9 in St. Anne's Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
