Last Rites for Mrs. Vernie S. Price were held recently with Rev. Hagee officiating. The service was held at the First Christian Church in Mound City, Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m.

Vernie D. Sines Price passed away May 27, 1959, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Frye, in Midland, Texas. She was born in Bismarck, Illinois in 1877.

She was married to George C. Price in 1894. Seven children were born to this union. Mr. Price passed away in 1952.


Mrs. Price lived in Holt County forty years and was a member of the First Christian Church since 1922. She had lived in Midland, Texas since 1947.

Survivors include her four children, Mrs. Earl Scarlett, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Marion Baker, Dothan, Ala., W. Eugene Price, Fort Worth, Texas, and Mrs. Tom D. Frye, Midland, Texas; nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Price and three children.
Burial was made in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City, Mo.
