Julia "Betty" Campbell (Nee Crothers) Hart, 96, of Oxford, Pa., passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at her daughter's home in Devon, Pa. She was the wife of the late Edward Warren Hart with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Kirkwood, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie Keene Crothers.
Julia attended the Oxford Church of the Nazarene for many years. She graduated from Colerain and Quarryville High Schools and attended West Chester State Teachers College for two years. After raising her family, Julia was employed with Herr Foods for 16 years.
The family was the center of her life, and with much love and respect she was referred to as the Matriarch.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce McCord of Havertown and Rosalie Hart of Devon; three grandchildren, Ediena Parsons of Jarrettsville, Md., Dorothy( Thomas R.) Hewston of Kennett Square, and Christopher (Cindy) McCord of Glen Mills; three great grandchildren, Craig and Lindsay Parsons of Jarrettsville, Md., and Kevin Hewston of Kennett Square; two step-great-grandchildren, Logan and Riley Duffie of Glen Mills; and adoptive daughter, Ruth Rumiano of Devon. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas McCord and two brothers, Paul and Alton Crothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, Pa, where friends and family may visit from 1 to 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery, Peach Bottom.
