ALEXANDRIA – Mrs. Mary Etta Austin, 82, 117 E. 1st St., died at 2 a.m. Sunday morning after an illness of one day.
The daughter of William and Anna Figley, she was born on May 28, 1881, In Mon[a]ca Pa. Her husband, George, preceded her in death in 1949.
She was a member of the Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church and the Help-Your-Neighbor Club, both in Alexandria.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Alice Prewett of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews, including a niece, Miss Evelyn Black of New Jersey, formerly of Alexandria and a nephew, Bill Dout[t] of Alexandria.
Funerals services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Davis-Stricler-Noffze Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl M. Lueker, pastor of the Our Blessed Savior Church in Alexandria [will officiate.] Interment will be in the Park View Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. today
