He was moved to "Newark State School For the Mentally Defective" (as it was called then) in Arcadia, Wayne County, New York. Kenneth never left the institutionalized life once he entered. Grandma said he was at home with his family, up until he was about 10 years of age.

Mrs. Rouse sued to recover for the death of her husband, George E. Rouse, West Bloomfield farmer, killed when his horse and buggy was struck by an automobile driven by Whiting, a resident of Middleport. The accident occurred in West Bloomfield last fall.
