Joe Roberson, 86, formerly of DePue, died April 2, 2006, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Peru, where he had resided for the past two years.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Pastor Peter Trapkus will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill, Wyanet.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Roberson was born Jan. 16, 1920, in West Plains, Mo., to Charles William and Anna (Bennett) Roberson. He married Phyllis Young on Oct. 30, 1952.
He retired from St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley where he had worked in the maintenance department. He had previously worked at Lowell Brickyard.
Survivors are four daughters, Bonnie (George) Smith of Stratton, Maine, Roxanne (Neal) Neurohr of Ottawa, Nicolette (Brian) Duffield of Spring Valley and Penny (Carroll) Simon of Joplin, Mo.; three sons, Gary (Janie) Roberson of West Plains, Joseph (Carol) Roberson of Kewanee and Mark (Lisa) Roberson of LaSalle; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1987, one grandson, stwo sisters and six brothers.
Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or to the donor's choice.
