SHEPHERD, ROY F. age 66, of Franklin, OH, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Portsmouth, OH, on March 14, 1948, to the late Nero and Ella (Hopkins) Shepherd, Jr. He retired from General Motors ~ Delco Products Division in 2001, after 31 years of service. During his retirement years he worked for Warren County MRDD for ten years. Roy was a devoted Pastor of the Sacred Dwelling Place Church in Middletown. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam Era; and was a member of Franklin American Legion Post #149. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Davis. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Julia A. (Pitts) Shepherd; 3 daughters, Laura (Darrell) Abner, Christine (Mike) Cooke and Kelly (Keith) Smith; 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren; 4 sisters, Omey Aldridge, Margie (David) Coleman, Tina Rawlins, Elaine Stapleton; 5 brothers, Norman (Dorothy) Shepherd, Nero "Junior" (Carolyn) Shepherd, Alfred "D" (Nancy) Shepherd, James Shepherd and Robert "Bob" Shepherd, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 11th, at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown, where the Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, with Pastor Larry McClure officiating.
