Joanne Compton Vaughn 77, of Las Vegas, passed away on November 4, 2014. She was born on August 31, 1937 to Edward C. Conway and Catharine McCormack in Albany, New York.
She has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1960 and worked at Nevada Energy for many years before retiring.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Charlie, her daughter Michelle Compton Bell, her step-daughters Norita Espinosa and Lynn Ann Lescenski (John), her grandsons; Jordan and Jarred; her granddaughters; Rebekah and Abigail, her sister, Carol Conway Campanella, her nieces; Dr. Lisa Cash (Peter) and Gina Campanella, nephew John Campanella, and four grand-nieces.
Joanne belonged to The Mesquite Club, The Towne Club, The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Spring Mountain Republican Women, St. Jude's Women's Auxiliary and The Nevada Women's History Project.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 15 at 11AM at Christ Church Episcopal at 2000 South Maryland Pkwy in Las Vegas.
Interment will follow in the church's columbarium and a reception will be held in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the organ fund at Christ Episcopal Church.
