Service arrangements for Abe F. Dyer, 74, 2613 Renick street, a retired car salesman, are pending at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman mortuary. He was long a well known musician here.
Mr. Dyer died Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital.
A native of De Kalb, he had resided in St. Joseph most of his life.
He was a member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church and the Musicians Union. He was a veteran of World War I.He had been retired two years.
Until his retirement from the office last summer, he had served more than 20 years as vice-president of Local 50 American Federation of Musicians. He played the violin and string bass.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Dyer of the home; one son, Kenneth C. Dyer, North Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Delbert Dyer, Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Miss Fannie Dyer, North Kansas City, and two grandchildren.
