Marvin Louis Wiggins, 79, of Pinopolis, SC, retired owner and operator of Wiggins Construction Company, died Thursday afternoon in Macedonia.

His funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2014, in the Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Christian Church Cemetery, with military honors. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church, 204 Newell St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

Mr. Wiggins was born September 26, 1935, in Macedonia, SC, a son of Silas Edison Wiggins and Daylor Mae Crawford Wiggins. He was a member of the Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a US Army veteran. In addition to his construction company, Mr. Wiggins was involved in both residential and commercial construction, which led him to his career as an hotelier. He was the owner of Captain D’s and the Berkeley Motel in Moncks Corner, and the Hampton Inn, Sleep Inn, Quality Inn, and Comfort Suites, located in Summerville. Mr. Wiggins formerly worked at KapStone Paper and at Raybestos. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Wiggins.

Surviving are, his wife, Carol Giggleman Wiggins; a daughter, Lynn Wiggins Thompson and her husband, Phil, of Moncks Corner; a son, Michael B. Wiggins and his wife, Liz, of Moncks Corner; four sisters, Mildred Myzell, Rita Thompson, Deanna Garrett, and Vonia Bost all of Macedonia; two brothers, Ronnie Wiggins of Macedonia, and Willis Wiggins of St. Stephen; and four grandchildren, Madeline Wiggins, Dalton Thompson, Jackson Wiggins, and Karson Wiggins.
