Donna Workman Coble left this world on the wings of angels in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. Graveside service: 9 a.m. Saturday in Moore Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donna was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Littlefield to her adoring parents, OB and Angelee Workman, with brother Durwood Lee. The family moved to Fort Worth and eventually called Arlington home. A proud and active alumnus of Arlington High School, class of 1957, she was a Colt all of her days. In 1958 she married her soul mate, Rodger David Coble. She was his princess, and together their lives were blessed with Shelley Arlene in 1962 and Michael David in 1965. For 20 years she and her prince operated City Cab Co. and Coble Delivery Service with Donna an integral part of daily operations. She was an amazing mother who could always be found along the sidelines at every game, heading up the room mothers and planning booster club events, just to name a few. In 1978, after a yearlong battle with cancer, the Lord called her soul mate home. She was the picture of grace, so brave and strong, and she taught her family to persevere. The fall of her life brought grand things. Donna was successful in antique and home decor markets, she enjoyed traveling, and even found love again. She loved shopping, dancing, cards, entertaining in her lovely home, baking, holidays, decorating, her cousins, brotherhood and she loved her friends. Her favorite role in life though had to be that of Nonnie! She savored every minute she shared with Mandy, Zac, Sport and Dave. The winter of her life brought more challenges, but she met those as before with dignity and grace. Her legacy of love to family would not be lost on those she left here. She taught her family commitment and integrity and to be a fighter to the end. Survivors: Daughter, Shelley Simpson and husband, Jeff; son, Mike Coble and wife, Cari; grandchildren, Amanda, Zac, Courtney and David; brother, Durwood Workman; and many close family and dear friends.
