WESTERLY - Eleanor "Helen" (Spino) Algiere, 92, of High Street, Westerly, passed away on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2013 at The Westerly Health Center. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Augustine "Augie" Algiere. She is survived by her sister Eileen M. Morrone, wife of Louis J., Sr. of Westerly, her guardian, Louis J. Morrone Jr. of Westerly and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Angelo, Julio and Antonio Jr. and two sisters, Rose Rescigno and Minnie Riley.
Eleanor was born in Westerly on Nov. 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Antonio and Annunziata (Terranova) Spino. Helen worked at the George C. Moore Company and Charbert's of Westerly and Alton. She was a member of the Third Order of Mary, the Our Lady of Fatima Prayer Group and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
