She was born March 7, 1910 in Lamesa, Texas, to Katie and Frank Good. Her family moved to Kenna when she was three years old, where she lived the rest of her life.
Mrs. McDowell went to school at Kenna through the 8th grade and graduated from Elida High School in 1928. She attended Drawns Business College in Abilene, Texas. On July 28, 1929 she married Claude McDowell in Clovis, New Mexico.
The couple made their home in Clovis for one year before moving to their ranch located near the Kenna area. She had been making her home with her daughter in Elida since September 1992.
Mrs. McDowell attended the Kenna Community Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Elida, the Kenna Ladies Aide and the "42" Club Elida.
She is preceded in death by both parents; three brothers: Bill Haley Good, Ben Good, Stanley Good; two sisters: Gertrude Good Crosby, and Josie Good Howell.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Ward of Elida; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at the Kenna Community Church with the Rev. Bob Bell officiating. Buri8al will follow at the Kenna Cemetery.
