VALLEY -- Mrs. Hazel S. Austin, 80, of Valley died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Eugene Striblin and Mr. Jack Whitlock officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Austin is survived by five daughters, Jeanette Irvin, Billie Wayne Weekes and Patricia Meadows, all of Valley, and Shirley A. Aaron and Cindy White, both of Lanett; three sons, Bobby Claude Austin, Joe Mack Austin and Randy Lee Austin, all of Valley; four sisters, Mary Davis, Lala Sides and Lena Pike, all of Valley, and Betty Jean Stewart of Opelika; two brothers, Robert Stewart and Joe Willis Stewart, both of Valley; 25 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Born June 1, 1920 in Dadeville, Ala., Mrs. Austin was a former employee of the Opelika Mill. She was of the Baptist faith.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 4 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
