Dr Colledge, educated in Glasgow and London, was a Congregational pastor from 1887-1903, a lecturer at the University of Chicago and head of the department of Language and Literature before becoming the president of the International Lyceum Association and director of the Chautauqua Bureau teaching and lecturing full-time in that capacity since 1911.
