Gloria Louise Hess Aug. 20, 1941 - Mar. 19, 2008
Funeral services will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. for Gloria Louise Hess, age 66. Burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery. Hospice Chaplain Mike Lynch will officiate at the services.
Miss Hess was born in Bakersfield, California on August 20, 1941 and passed away in a Bakersfield nursing home on March 19, 2008 following a very long struggle with Huntington's Disease (Chorea). She attended Maricopa High School and graduated from the Cuyama Valley High School in 1959. She graduated from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria and attended Biola and Pasadena Nazarene Colleges. She loved singing in the Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene Choir where she was a member. She was a good seamstress, making most of her own clothing as a member of the Cuyama Valley 4-H Club.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellsworth S. Hess; her brothers, Eugene and Keneth Hess; and nephew, David Jeffrey Low in 1989.
Gloria is survived by her mother, Roberta Hess and her sister, Carolyn Low-Schot both of New Cuyama; nephews, Don Low of Seattle, WA and Darryl Low of Acton CA; and five great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home. Erickson Brown Funeral Home
