She was born in Redfield, S.D., and lived in Stuart since 1937, coming from South Dakota.
Before retirement, she was the secretary at Whiticar Boat Works in Stuart for many years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stuart, P.E.O. Sisterhood, founding member of Yacht and Country Club of Stuart and volunteer at Martin Memorial Medical Center and supported many civic organizations in Martin County.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Curtis Whiticar of Stuart; daughters, Laura Kay Darvill of Stuart and Joanne Talley of Hobe Sound; son, John C. Whiticar of Jensen Beach; brother, John Dragseth of Stuart; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Florida United Methodist Children's Home, 51 Main St., Enterprise, FL 32725.
SERVICES: A memorial celebration will be at 1:30 p.m. April 29 at First United Methodist Church in Stuart, with a reception to follow in the church's fellowship hall.
