He was born December 9, 1935 in Hooven, Ohio the son of the late Wilbur L. & Doris M. Reed Rea.
He served in the US Army in the late 1950’s and is a member of the Garrison Creek Baptist Church. He had been employed at Connersville Gravel Company as a supervisor before becoming employed with D & M and WCI until their closing.
James is survived by four sisters, Minnie Farrow, Connersville; Violet Jolliff, Brookville; Edna & Glen Tuggle, Laurel; and Louella & Harold Metcalf, Metamora as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who he loved like they were his own children.
He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Horner Sanders Rea who passed away in January 1997; as well as two brothers Donald Rea and Wilbur Rea.
Funeral services will be conducted at Garrison Creek Baptist Church on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tim Fluty officiating. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council. Friends may visit at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M.
