Swaner

Opan(sic) Iva Swaner, age 72 of Sayre passed away Sunday February 11, 1912 at Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. On September 3, 1933 she married Walter Earl Swaner in Sayre.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sayre Church of Christ with Eddie Beard and Ray Smart officiating, under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre. Interment will be in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery.

She moved with her parents to Sulphur, Oklahoma living there until 1928 when they moved to Beckham County. She lived in Sayre since her marriage. She was a member of the Northland Quilting Club where she had served as president. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Organization where she served one year as president. She was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one sister, and two brothers. Survivors include three daughters Phylema Parker and Janie McBane both of Sayre, Kay Oren of Erick, Oklahoma; two sons Wesley Earl Swaner of McLean, Texas, Delbert Grant Swaner of Snyder, OK; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers, Monsel(sic) A. Young and W.T. Young both of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Captola(sic) Miller of Sanford, Texas and Dessie Harrison of Texola, Oklahoma.
