Hazel Green Resident Succumbs At Home Of Daughter Here
W. L. Phillips, 74, of Hazel Green, died at 20 o’clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Pruitt, after an illness of two weeks.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louana Phillips; three daughters, Mrs. Pruitt and Misses Ruby and Thelma Phillips, Huntsville; one son, Cleba Phillips, at home; two brothers, Sam Phillips, Rockdale, Texas, and Tom Phillips, Riverton; and one sister, Mrs. Dan Hobbs, Hazel Green.
The funeral cortege will leave the home of Mrs. Pruitt at 1 o’clock tomorrow afternoon for State Line church, where services will be conducted at 2 o’clock by the Rev. Will Malone.
Burial will follow in State Line cemetery with Laughlin-McCaleb in charge of arrangements.
Bruce Smith, Ozro Price, Clyde Phillips, Burke Fisk and Walter Fisk will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Bullard, Dr. Dickey, Dr. E. V. Caldwell, John Moseley, Gus Towery, Albert Spray, Holman Hubert, Albert Carriger, Charley Boyd and John Warren.
