GUILFORD- Rebecca N. Johnston, 68, died October 30, 2014, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born September 1, 1946 in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Alfred L. Johnston and Mary L. Johnston.

She graduated from PCHS in 1965, and attended the University of Maine at Orono where she attained the following degrees, BS in ED., Masters in Middle Level, and C.A.S. in Middle Level.

She worked for 36 years, the last 25 at SeDoMoCha Middle School in Dover-Foxcroft. She then did long-term subbing and became a Foster Grandparent. She was a member of the Order of Rainbow Girls, the Guilford United Methodist Church where she became a lay leader. She was also a member of the Retired Educators.

She is survived by her mother, Mary L. Johnston of Guilford; a brother and his wife, Fred and Linda Johnston of Dover-Foxcroft; three nieces and their families, Jessica, Lee, and Lauren Kashka of California, Stephanie, Matthew, and Noah of Bangor, and Sarah and Andrew of New York; aunts and uncles, Kay and Paul Ruksznis of Guilford, Anita and Richard Cole of Oakland, and Bernadette Johnston of Florida.

Burial will be in the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford.
