Carl Hicks, 65, of Rt. 1, New Market, died early today at Crestwood Hospital after a short illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.
Mr. Hicks was retired and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his widow Mrs. Sallie Hicks; two daughters, Mrs. William B. Hill and Mrs. Aileen Mitchell both of Huntsville; a son Alton Hicks of Danville, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Ray, Mrs. Elmer Hill and Miss Mae Hicks, all of Tullahoma, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Paul Hicks, 65, Rt. 1, New Market, died yesterday in Crestwood Hospital after a short illness.
A funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spry Chapel in Huntsville. Rev. Roy Fincher and Rev. John Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sally Hicks; two daughters, Mrs. William Hill and Mrs. Aileen Mitchell, both of Huntsville; a son Alton Hicks from Danville, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Hicks, Miss Mae Hicks, Mrs. Elmer Hill all of Tullahoma, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tom Harbin, Homer Mefford, Ed McDaniel, Rev. Otis Hunter, Leonard Morris and John Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Acie Worsham, tom Brooks and Leonard Mooneyham.
