She was born in Simpson, County on December 28, 1960 to Michael “Pete” Thornton and the late Mary Jo Neeley Thornton. She worked with Life Skills in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church and is survived by:

Father – Michael “Pete” Thornton of Auburn, Kentucky 2 Brothers – Michael Ryan Thornton of Bowling Green, Kentucky Jonathon Thornton of Clarksville, Tennessee 1 Sister – Dina Jo Capek of Laveen, Arizona

Funeral Services for Karen Thornton will be conducted Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Cave Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Tony McAlister officiating and burial to follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until funeral time at 1:00 P.M. in the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
